Overview

EnhanceEdu is a web-based application package that can be installed on the Internet or Intranet for the enhancement of the management of classroom courses and distant learning.

The beta version of EnhanceEdu is being tested on the Internet at www.enhanceEdu.com, providing an integrated website that interacts with a database server. This website will soon be available for the instructors to design professional dynamic course websites in schools or corporations. The instructors can easily input course information and contents, create online graphical assignments and exams with built-in grading and report system, and utilize discussion forum for the course. Students can access all registered courses from one integrated website.

EnhanceEdu was developed by LSIC with the valuable inputs from a group of professional educators, aiming at bringing cutting-edge Internet technologies to education.

The only instructor who has built the course website has the authority to make a change on the course website contents. Each student can only access the courses he registered in and his/her student ID must be entered by the instructors of the courses, and his/her grades will be associated with his/her unique password.

Wizard-aided user-interface design! Various course layouts are available for a designer to choose from. By following the wizard steps, instructors need not have the knowledge of user-interface design.

Colorful assignments and exams! An instructor can design his/her own assignments with multiple-choice questions and answers incorporating illustrative and colorful images.

Real-time grading and reporting! As students complete the assignments online, the built-in grading system will display the score promptly, and then record it into the database. Besides saving instructor’s grading time, one of the greatest advantages of using online grading system is to reduce the period of learning cycle. Instructors can fill remedial instructions, so that students can view immediately their grades and obtain information for improvement.

Online community forum! Use course forum to communicate with your students more effectively. One can post questions in the forum and students can respond directly, or one can generate a discussion topic thread with multilevel responses.

Prompt publishing/uploading of instruction contents! Instructors can choose to publish the entire course content (and daily class notes), assignments and exams, or to upload files (sound, video, text, images, etc.), a great tool for distant learning or just for the enhancement of traditional courses.
